Drome Explorer Plus
We have put together a series of daywalks for more experienced or confident walkers, who are looking for something more challenging than our other holidays. That said, you don't need to be an athlete, just fit and healthy; it's a walking holiday after all.
Philippe, our guide, has been walking in these mountains for many years, and will lead us on some wonderful walks, offering spectacular views. On a clear day looking north east, we'll probably see Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc, in the distance, and looking south, Mont Ventoux. We'll be in the heart of the southern alps, surrounded by stunning scenery and plenty of european wildlife - chamois, ibex, eagles and vultures.
There is a magnificent walk just 10 km away from our base, to the summit of 'Les Trois Becs'. The views are amazing, and the early start guarantees excellent opportunities to see the local wildlife.
We normally set off at 9.30 each morning with a picnic lunch, usually taking a short minibus ride of twenty to forty minutes, and return to La Maison Rose mid to late afternoon for a cup of tea or a beer. There should be plenty of time to have a swim, read or stroll before enjoying a delicious four course meal on the terrace.
